Martin Luther King, Jr. Day January 20, 2025

On Monday, January 20th, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a leader whose commitment to justice, equality and nonviolence transformed the nation. Dr. King’s work during the Civil Rights Movement challenged the status quo and brought attention to the importance of racial equality, social justice and human dignity for all.

MLK Day serves as a reminder not only of the progress we’ve made, but also of the ongoing work needed to achieve the vision Dr. King set forth – a world where individuals are judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin. It is a day to reflect on his teachings, to remember the sacrifices made during the Civil Rights Movement, and to reaffirm our commitment to building a more just and inclusive society.

If you’d like to learn more about Dr. King’s legacy and the civil rights movement, here are a few books you may want to check out.
