Love Your Library Month

The month of February came and went like most Februaries do. Time already flies when we have a 31 day month, and I think most of us certainly felt like we could have used those 4 extra days. Here at John Jermain we had our annual “Love Your Library” month, which is an ongoing program throughout the month of February where patrons of all ages get the opportunity to tell us why they love their library. Downstairs in the Children’s Department, children wrote down their reasons on heart shaped paper. Red, pink and purple hearts filled our two glass windows and their reasons were a beautiful reflection (literally) on what makes libraries so great. Reasons from the staff being “soooo nice” to loving books, and just being inside our beautiful building are what some of our younger patrons wrote down.

As most of you know, we offer a wide variety of books that patrons can check out, but did you also know you can borrow e-books, audiobooks and playaway audios? These are just a few of the many ways you can borrow books. Don’t like to read a book? Listen to one. Don’t like to check out bulky audiobooks with 20 CD’s? Download it. The world around us is constantly changing and evolving, and with that so are libraries. We have had to adapt to change many times, and with that change we are introduced to the world of technology and the various ways in which we can access information, knowledge, and books. Your library card is the key to the world, and with the assistance from your Librarian, we can help you access whatever your heart desires. You will always find a reason to love your library here at John Jermain.
