It’s not just the books. It’s also the stories.

Since the April kickoff of the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library at JJML, 51 kids aged 0-6 got their first books free through the program. Our teens—coached by Librarians Randall Lombardi and Emily Kazanecki—placed in the top ten of Suffolk County libraries participating in the annual Battle of the Books. Our Pathway to Success Scholarship—supported by noted sculptor Robert Hooke–is helping Ryder Esposito continue his pre-physical therapy program studies at Mount Saint Mary College this fall.

In 2025, Outreach Coordinator Aracely Garcia helped four individuals prepare and successfully pass the U.S. citizenship exam. Over the past decade 21 people have become U.S. citizens with the help of the Library. Emerging Technologies Librarian Anthony Giansante helped 75 Library users—many of them seniors–reduce their digital footprint, shop safely online, and prevent identity theft.

When beloved Sag Harbor historian Jean Held passed away this year, she entrusted her research laptop (and a supporting gift of funds) to our growing JJML archives.

Your support of the Library helped us write these stories. Help us write more in the year to come.

With thanks and best regards,

Elliott
