Wagner Dialogues: “What Keeps a Democracy Vibrant?”

Join Sag Harbor residents John Avlon and Sally Susman as they discuss the state of the democracy in the run-up to the 2018 midterm election. This sure to be lively dialogue will be followed by a Q&A session and reception.

John Avlon is a Senior Political Analyst at CNN, and former editor of The Daily Beast. He is the author of several books, including Washington’s Farewell: The Founding Father’s Warning to Future Generations, in which he highlights the history and content of Washington’s parting treatise to the American people in the context of the contemporary political climate.

Sally Susman is a writer, business executive, political strategist and civic leader.  Currently Pfizer’s Executive Vice President for Corporate Affairs, Susman was a presidential appointee in the Clinton Administration and National Finance Committee member for President Obama and Secretary Hillary Clinton.  She is on the International Rescue Committee Board and a former trustee of the Library of Congress.

This new series is named in memory of educator and activist Paul A. Wagner, and is underwritten by generous donations from his family.  Saturday, October 13, 6:00; reception following. Pre-registration required, please use this calendar to register.
