Library Executive Director Kelly Harris will moderate a discussion with Derek Ivie and AnnaLee Dragon on the recent rise in Book Challenges, representation, and why an unfettered exchange of ideas is essential to the preservation of a free and democratic society.
Derek Ivie is the Youth Services Coordinator at the Suffolk Cooperative Library System. He is also one of the co-founders of the Long Island Library Pride Alliance, and is currently serving on ALA’s Rainbow Roundtable Stonewall Award committee. AnnaLee Dragon is the Executive Director of the New York Library Association. She has worked in libraries in many capacities for the last 19 years. Prior to her role at NYLA, AnnaLee was the Director of the Kinderhook Memorial Library in Columbia County.
