JJML LIVE: Reading The Silmarillion

June 8 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm EDT

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 5:30 pm on Monday, repeating until June 15, 2020

Free

We’re doing it, we’re tackling Tolkien’s The Silmarillion! This online book club will read The Silmarillion (available to all JJML card holders on hoopla) in small sections, and meet up every Monday at 5:30 (except Memorial Day, 5/25) for a weekly Zoom meeting to talk about the book, and discuss any questions we may have about the work. This small but dense book contains a treasure trove of world-building for Tolkien’s Middle-earth- if you enjoy the Lord of the Rings or any kind of epic fantasy, this online book club is for you!

Registration is for all sessions, limited to 15 people.

For our first meeting on April 13, we will discuss the first two sections, the “Ainulindale” and “Valenquenta.”
