Activity: Story Time

April 21, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 11:30 am EDT

Heroes/Bravery Week

For this week’s story time we have James Earl Jones reading To Be a Drum by Evelyn Coleman and illustrated by Aminah Robinson. A father relays the story of the ‘drum’ to his two sons, which gave the African people the courage to push through despite their enslavement. Check out this teacher’s guide for activities based on the book.
