Earth Day – April 22, 2025

Celebrating Earth Day: A Reminder of Our Shared Responsibility

Every year on April 22, we celebrate Earth Day—a day to reflect on the beauty of our planet and the importance of protecting it. What began in 1970 as a grassroots movement has grown into a global call to action, reminding us that even small steps can lead to meaningful change.

Earth Day encourages us to be mindful of our impact on the environment and to take action, whether by reducing waste, conserving energy, supporting sustainable practices, or simply appreciating the natural world around us. It’s a day to remember that the health of our planet is closely tied to the health of our communities.

At the library, we believe in the power of knowledge to inspire change. This Earth Day, we invite you to explore books and other resources which deepen our understanding of environmental issues—and empower us all to make a difference.
