Read, Watch, Listen: Online or On a Device


John Jermain offers a variety of resources available for download through Livebrary, a service of the Suffolk Cooperative Library System. Resources include downloadable ebooks, audiobooks and magazines that can be read on your computer or hand-held device almost anywhere in the world. All you need is your library card for access to thousands of books and hundreds of periodicals. Apps are available to facilitate reading/listening on you computer, tablet or mobile phone. In addition library cardholders have access to a variety of feature films, documentaries and video courses through the library’s affiliations with Kanopy and (coming soon) Hoopla.
 

Ebooks and Audiobooks

Overdrive – An extensive collection of ebooks for Kindle and other e-readers, as well as a vast selection of audiobooks. Books may be downloaded to your device or read in an online app that is built into the system. Apps for computer, iPad/iPhone and Android tablets and phones are available.

RB Digital – Recorded Books offers an expansive collection of audiobook titles from major publishing houses along with exclusive audiobooks produced by Recorded Books and narrated by professional, award-winning actors. Apps are available to facilitate listening on Apple and Android devices.

Periodicals

Films

Kanopy – The Kanopy collection offers a broad selection of more than 30,000 award-winning documentaries, rare and hard-to-find titles, film festival favorites, indie and classic films, and world cinema. includ9ing the Criterion Collection, Samuel Goldwyn, The Great Courses, PBS and thousands of independent filmmakers. You can watch films anywhere, any time on your smartphone, tablet, PC or Smart TV. Apps are available for iOS, Android, AppleTV, Chromecast and Roku.

What’s Included: John Jermain Memorial Library cardholders are entitled to watch up to 10 films per month. Play credits reset on the first of the month. You have three days to watch each film.

How to Get Started: click on “Sign Up” in the top right corner. You will  be asked to enter your email address and library card number.
