Hello Sag Harbor,
John Jermain bought a 3D printer! We have joined a county-wide initiative with other libraries and the Suffolk Cooperative Library System to create a “print farm” making face shields for healthcare workers at Stony Brook Hospital. Our new 3D printer will be at SCLS working hard to protect Long Island’s medical staff during the COVID-19 crisis, after which it will be housed at the library.
We’ve also expanded our online programs, book clubs, tutoring, story times and exercise classes. If you are on our email-list, you will receive an email each Sunday evening with details for the week ahead. We’re still learning, but it has been a lot of fun! Let me know if you need help accessing these events.
Our FAQ page is updated daily—and we have given out many, many new library cards. Our COVID-19 Sag Harbor Archive is also updated daily. Please contribute thoughts, photos, videos, even take-out menus. Years from now, our collective resilience will be remembered.
