March Art Show: “Sag Harbor Visions”

3/11/2020 Edit: The Artist Reception and all other March 2020 programs are canceled- please see this blog post for more details. The Exhibit will still be on display in the library until March 30.

Visit the library this March and enjoy the show “Sag Harbor Visions” on display in the Laurence and Pamela Rossbach Gallery. This group show features the work of four women artists, each with a unique style and take on the place that we love: Miriam Dougenis, Barbara Haddon, Whitney Hansen, and Marcella Yenick.

“Sag Harbor Visions”
Exhibit: March 1 – 30 2020
Artist Reception: Canceled

Whitney Hansen

Whitney Hansen’s subjects are varied, from still life and portrait to seascapes and landscapes. The medium is oil and makes use of the woodcut process. After the print is pulled, hand painting completes the process. The layering of paint is what creates the final effect.

Barbara Hadden

Barbara Hadden is a self taught artist whose works can be found in many collections. Settled in Sag Harbor, she is a long time resident of the Hamptons who finds the architecture and landscape of Eastern Long Island a continuous source of inspiration.

Miriam Dougenis

Architecture is a favorite subject of mine because I like geometry…..not the kind you had to do in school….but the visual geometry of a house, barn or other structure…..even for the design of a landscape….such as what I call a “roadscape”.

Marcella Yenick

Marcella Yenick has lived on Long Island most of her life. She has studied with many notable artists, and she herself has taught both watercolor and oil painting in East Hampton, Southampton, and Sag Harbor adult education programs.

  1. It would be nice to see the individual works in the show, especially since
the show was cancelled due to the virus problem.
