The Star-Touched Queen is a gem of a Fantasy, richly influenced by Hindu mythology. The language is lyrical and descriptive, perfect for telling a story full of mystery and wonder. Maya, cursed and ostracized by a horrific horoscope, embarks upon an impromptu journey with Amar to escape her father’s (the Rajah) kingdom and a politically convenient marriage. She finds herself in strange worlds, married to Amar, surrounded by more questions than answers. A chance meeting with a woman who claims to have been her sister in a past life casts doubt on everything she thinks she knows. Reincarnation and fate feature strongly in the repercussions and possibilities of her choices as she navigates the dangers she faces. I strongly recommend this to fantasy readers, and people who are entranced by folktales or mythology.
