The Art of Crash Landing, by Melissa DeCarloMattie Wallace isn’t an easy character to warm up to. She lies, makes questionable choices and doesn’t treat people very well. During a low point, one of what seems like a series of many self imposed crisis, she hears about an inheritance from a grandmother that she didn’t know. She hares off chasing the dream of an inheritance to find an estate that is barely going to cover its own debts, a sexy minister, old family tangles, and some unexpected friendships and discoveries about herself. The tone of the story was perfectly conveyed by the audio-book narrator and was a really enjoyable book to listen to. The plot seemed a little contrived here and there, but the quirky characters and their development were fun to follow.
