The third annual One for the Books! was, most definitely, one for the books. The book discussion dinners, which took place on October 11th and 18th were a great opportunity to meet neighbors and talk about literature—they were also a lot of fun. Book selections ranged from poetry to teen novels, and bestsellers to classics. In all 229 guests participated in this event. They, and a number of other generous donors helped raise nearly $30,000 for the Library’s capital campaign. Special thanks are due to the donors who subsidized tickets for the library staff (wonderful!), the hosts who gave the dinners (delicious!), the volunteer committee for their superb organizational skills (awesome!) and event chairperson Gail Slevin (flat-out amazing!).
