It's Germane

Now find us at

As far back as I can remember, the address for the John Jermain Memorial Library’s website has been (Before my time here we had a different address, but I have no idea what it was.) Many people have commented that is a bit unwieldy, even though you don’t have to type the “http://” part. I agree. In fact, we (everyone in the library) agrees.

Well, the wheels of progress move slowly, but they do move. As  of today, our new address on the web, is the easy-to-type, and even easier to remember (The last period marks the end of the sentence. It is not part of the address.) Don’t worry though, the old address will still work, so you don’t have to change any favorites, bookmarks or shortcuts on your computer. But for those times when you’re not on a computer with the library’s address neatly bookmarked, you now have an easy-to-remember way to get to our site.

While we were at it, we also thought we’d try to cover our bases and help out those who may not know our address and prefer to stumble around blindly rather than use Google to find us. (I’m not sneering, I’ve done that myself more than a few times.) To that end, we’ve also created a few aliases that will get you to our website as well. They are: (instead of .org), and So you now have a world of choices as to how to get to our website. You’re welcome to use which ever one strikes your fancy.

This change does not effect this blog in any way. The address for the blog is still, or you can get here from the link on our home page at

By the way, I have no idea why it took us so long to make this change, so please don’t ask ;-)

Update (6/27/08): I forgot to mention that typing www. is optional. You can just type in the address bar and that will work too. Even easier!!
