Trustees Select Architect for Library Renovation/Expansion

We are happy to announce that at its regularly scheduled meeting last night (June 18th), the Board of Trustees of the John Jermain Memorial Library voted to “…engage the firm of Herbert S. Newman & Partners to work with the library director, the board, the staff and the community to design a building program that will best serve the Sag Harbor community’s library needs.” This firm, based in New Haven, Connecticut, has significant library design experience, including new structures, restorations, and adaptive reuse projects. A video of their May 2008 interview with the public can be seen here, and a copy of their proposal is available for review in the Library Director’s office. We hope you take part in this exciting phase of John Jermain’s long history by sharing your ideas and dreams for the library with us.
